Cameras use magic right?

When working at a home security company, I received a call from a customer who was angry because her security cameras were not working. After ensuring the outdoor cameras were plugged in, I asked her if her cameras were connected to the internet.

I am expecting her to say yes, or maybe I would have to help her get them connected. Nope, she says

"I don't have the internet. Do I need the internet for these cameras to work?"

Me: "Um, yes. The cameras require Wi-Fi. That is how you are able to view the video feed."

Her: "I was not told that when I purchased them."

Me: Thinking to myself, how did you think you would be able to view the camera feed, magic?
